How to Get a Job in the Digital Age (Part One)

Even in the digital age searching for a job can be a frustrating process. You go to a job site like and you spend hours clicking on jobs that look exciting. You upload your resume numerous times. You fill out endless job applications. Then you wait for a reply or to be invited to an interview.

If you’re lucky you may receive a notice from the company acknowledging receipt of your application. More often than not you will not hear anything from the company. In the digital age, hiring managers receive thousands of applications for each open position and they only respond to candidates that they are interested in.

There is a much more effective way to search for a job. During this series of blog posts I’m going to give you some tools that you can use right away. Here are the first 2:

1. Pick 10-15 companies you’d love to work for. 2. Research those companies like crazy. Don’t stop until you know their challenges, goals for the next 6-12 months, & plans to get there..png
